About

Kenneth Ferrone is an Emmy-Nominated Producer and Director with credits encompassing both scripted series and live event television, film, Broadway theater, and themed entertainment. With a passion for storytelling, he is committed to the creative development and production of dynamic and engaging new works across a variety of mediums.

 

Kenneth Produced the three-hour broadcast events, ANNIE LIVE!, RENT, and the Emmy Award winning GREASE LIVE!, including the show’s live behind-the-scenes content, which captured roughly 2.2 million viewers and over 1.6 million social actions across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. For NBC, Kenneth Associate Produced the television series, RISE (Universal TV, TrueJack, Seller-Suarez), as well as Steven Spielberg’s musical series, SMASH (Universal TV, Storyline, Amblin.) For Keshet Studios, Kenneth managed domestic and international production on the APPLE+ action thriller series, ECHO 3, created by Mark Boal and starring Luke Evans. Additional credits include the NBC pilots for DECEPTION (Universal TV, BermanBraun), IRONSIDE (Universal TV, Davis Entertainment, Yellow Brick Road), Theresa Rebeck’s feature film directorial debut, POOR BEHAVIOR, and BROADWAY 4D, an immersive 3D film attraction directed by Bryan Singer starring Christina Aguilera, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Hudson, and Glenn Close.  Kenneth’s award-winning short film, HEY BEAUTIFUL, won top honors in CineGear’s 2020 Film Series, the Big Apple Film Festival and Austin Spotlight Film Festival. 

 

For the stage, Kenneth developed and directed the world premiere musical, THE WANDERER, based on the life of Rock N Roll Hall of Fame artist, Dion DiMucci. The production opened to stellar reviews at Paper Mill Playhouse and is currently planning a Broadway transfer. He directed the critically acclaimed 1st National Tour of CRUEL INTENTIONS: THE 90’S MUSICAL, based on the cult film, as well as the Live streamed concert from Hollywood's Bourbon Room; and the premiere of WHEN BLOOD RAN RED at NYTF. Kenneth Associate Directed Paula Vogel's MOTHER PLAY on Broadway, the 12-Time Tony Nominated Broadway musical, SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS, for Nickelodeon as well as the upcoming Broadway musical, DAVE.  He collaborated with Jerry Seinfeld and Colin Quinn as the Associate Director of COLIN QUINN: THE NEW YORK STORY, which earned rave reviews Off-Broadway, was named a 2015 “Critic’s Pick” by the New York Times, and was filmed for Netflix.  He directed the Off-Broadway premiere of LUCIE POHL: HI HITLER at the Cherry Lane Theatre as well as the critically acclaimed SISTAS, which enjoyed a 10-year run Off-Broadway and was produced for television by BET and RLJ Entertainment, earning five AUDELCO Award nominations, including Best Director. He Associate Directed the critically acclaimed Broadway revival of LOVE LETTERS, the world premiere of WATERFALL, by Richard Maltby Jr. and David Shire, the Broadway premiere of WONDERLAND, and Tarell McCraney's HEAD OF PASSES, starring Felicia Rashad. Other recent stage credits include productions at the 5th Ave Theatre, Mark Taper Forum, Pasadena Playhouse, Primary Stages, The Alley, Williamstown Theatre Festival, and Goodspeed Musicals, in addition to international productions across Europe, Asia, and South America.

 

Kenneth is a graduate of Northwestern University and a member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, Producers Guild of America, and the Television Academy.
